How wonderful is it to feel confident in yourself as an adult? In the big world, full of expectations and obligations, it’s a satisfying moment when you realize… “I did that!!”
Just as much, when a child in a Montessori classroom has realized his/her own potential, it is everything and more! What we as adults would normally characterize as the “little things” are actually the “big things” for our children. But, as we go through our daily tasks, we tend to be in a rushed state of mind, especially during this time of year. So as we’re kicking off this busy holiday season, here’s a friendly reminder to take pause and recognize moments where we can slow down to allow our children the time & space to complete the task at hand. This allows them to feel that sense of accomplishment which in turn builds their self-esteem, confidence and independence. These building blocks are what become their wings to fly as they get exposed to the world out there.
And as the Director of our school, I’ll be here to remind our amazing staff as well, to slow down and remember the impact that we all make in the lives of our children & their future!
